I play trombone in the Powell band. I like to do fascinating things such as eating, sleeping, trombone playing, watching movies, posting on blogs, Scholar's Bowl. I hope band and guard people will come visit this site. I'd like to get to know more people. I'm a pretty nice guy, so i think you'll like me. I am a soloist on Moondance, which i enjoy being. I love to play, its my thing. I enjoy being in the band, its always fun. Anyway i hope you'll like my blog.

The Conquerer

Hey again i hope everything is going well people. Looks like our first game's almost here man! Friday of course we play against Webb and we perform for the 1st time. It's gonna be great, plus i get to hear them say my name on the intercom! Life is pretty good I love my "job". Met alot of new people this year. The freshmen are great I must say. The girls are cute and the guys are cool. Being a senior is pretty awesome cause I don't have to take crap from anyone anymore now. It's really a powerful feeling I must say! Oh yeah by the way Ive been learning electric lead guitar lately. Ive had this dream of performing in front of screaming girls with a guitar in my hands. Ive decided that maybe I'll reach for this dream! Guitar's really not that hard, its just rough on the fingers at first. I think I may also try to work on my singing too. I am talented at making lyrics, so why not be a rock star???? Anyway I also signed up for rugby, but I don't know how often I'll be able to come cause my schedule is packed like a suitcase. Plus I'm not a fan of getting the hell beat out of me, but I do like to run. I thought it might help me maintain my excellent physique. Well that's about all for now I am happy right now I think I will now go practice my show music! Heeya!!!! Lightning Kick! From the Kung Fu Master!

Life is bliss

Hey i thought Id finally make a blog entry after so long guys. Anyway, in case you didn't know I was elected band captain during camp by my fellow bandsmen and women. Life has been pretty goood the last few weeks. I am excited about school for once in my life! I actually have a good schedule too, one that is not too hard. I also am Scholar's Bowl captain too, so Im gonna be busy with that stuff too. Other than that I can frankly say that I've never felt more myself these past few days. I feel so loved actualy. I mean getting elected captain has just been incredible! I mean I feel so happy that 4 years of hard work paid off. It really is a great feeling. I can't say thank you enough times to everybody who's supported me over the years. It takes time to realize how much you're cared about by some people you know? Anywaayy school starts in a few so I am preparing myself for another fun fillled year. Thank you Jama and Alyssa for reviving the blog it needed some help! Lata

The Long Days of Summer

Hey this is Nik once again. I hope everybody is having a good summer! Hope everybody had a good Fourth of July. Band Camp is only 2 weeks away and I gotta memorize my music. Havent practiced alot the last week unfortunately, but thats gonna change today. I dont want to set a bad example by slacking off of course. So anyway wait till you see my hair at band camp its grown pretty loooong. I haven't cut it in months.  Hope you like the hippie look!  So anyway I've been practicing my music and its actuallly quite challenging for marching music. It's very crazy and upbeat of course! I hope all my band buddies have practiced their music this summer! Spence- Man is pretty cool. He knows what he's doing, which is good. So far the future is looking hopeful. I guess all I have to do now....... is practice.

By the way movie night at the baseball field come if you wanna hang out with me!!!!

New Director????????!!!

Hey i am still around what's up guys?? Hope your summers are great so far, its been interesting. I've heard that we already have a new band director, and his name is Spencer Milligan from Bearden. He's their assistant director and from what I've heard a very good trombone player. Now I trust the people who reported this, but I'm still skeptical about this issue. For now, based on the evidence, its possible but not absolute. But he probably is. This guy is originally from Powell and was band captain back in the good old days. So I'll stay on the prowl to see if this is, in fact, true. Other than that things have been good, I'm missing alot of you guys right now we really need to do something at the mall. ( something fun anyway)Seriously! Uh I've been practicing of course, I'm trying to get better, and to learn how to play jazz. Been trying to teach myself that stuff. Next week I am going to Lee University Music Camp in Cleveland, so I hope that is fun as heck! Haven't cut my hair in two months. I gotta do something about that my senior picture is in 2 weeks. Later guys

Finals and Star Wars

Tomorrow is finals. Im studying algebra 2 right now..... Its realllllllly dulllll................... I seem to be losing focus......................................... lol so yeah i know you're all studying as hard as me!(wink wink) So anyway today was the last full day of school!!!!!!!!!!! It was pretty slow today, but overall a decent day. Its only three days til Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith!! And no better day for its premiere than on the last day of school! I really want to see it when it comes out because when i do  I might post a review. I'm curious to see exactly how Anakin goes to the "dark side". I know that in this film he is tempted by the Chancellor(future emperor) at some point in the movie, but of course we know he is already breaking Jedi law by marrying Padme and by killing all those poor little Tuskan Raiders. As you can see I'm a pretty big fan of Star Wars, perhaps the greatest movies ever made.( I speak the truth) I have to admit ive been disappointed with the last two because they've lacked the rich storyline and great characters that the original trilogy had. I really hope that the upcoming one will be better than the previous two. Regardless of how good this one may be, i don't think it will ever compare to the originals, but hey I may be wrong. I have to admit im pretty excited about it. Hey it cant be too bad, Darth Vader's in iT!!! Well thats about it I'm slacking off here, and I need to be a good boy and study.

The Blog is Not Dead

Hey okayy heres an update then. Yesterday was Senior Awards Day, it was pretty good, i didnt watch all of it but it was a good tribute to the seniors. I practiced a little over an hour Friday evening, Im trying to raise the bar on trombone! I still need to work on some things, I tend to be impetuous when reading music, so from now on I will use my metronome and practice section by section every TIME I practice. I hope I can ascend to All-State Level by next year with a lot of practice! So I was watching senior awards and i thought to myself, "Wow, only one more year." Its kinda creepy to think about, but next year's my last year in band. I pray that it will be a great year, so I've decided to do my best to help the band win next marching season. As a senior I will do my best to lead the trombones;I think I have earned the right to do so. I promise I won't be a jerk to my section, but I wont tolerate slackers who dont care about band(or working hard). I know you guys wish id update more. Blogging can only do so much though, Ive learned that its no sub for real interaction, its just an internet hobby. So, if you guys are upset about the blog just hang out with me at school. Get to know me, and we'll be friends.

The Rage of the Man

School is so close to ending finallly..... And I couldnt  have had a faster school year. Wow though it was a pretty good year though, but i realize that i have only 1 more year in high school. Wow how time flies!!!!! I remember coming here as a scared little freshman, and now Im almost a senior! I remember being so scared to perform in front of people, now its something im used to. Anyway besides my trip down memory lane Yearbook signing day is Thursday so that should be cool. At least we wont be doing any work, except lots of strenuous signing. Lets see the weeks been good I shot basketball last night and I did pretty good.  Too bad im not a jockkk....... Lifted weights too for a while as well! That was productive too. Im feeling STRONGER every day!!!! Foley was very angry today at the band and honestly, I can't blame him. I felt a little angry too. Its not that hard for everybody to just be quiet and listeN! If anybody thinks Mrs Dueber is tough try spending an hour and a half playing all 12 major scales for a professional!!! Anyway i wish people would respect her I know you might not like her teaching style but hey at least she gives a crap about you!!! Okay.... breathe...... breathe.. well im just ranting,  this is a good place to unload. Ive got 1 more year to make a good band and hell im nOt going to waste iT!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I just wish our band would care..... Please care. If you dont quit band... Band is not for slackers. I hope someone taggs my blog soon. Take care

Band was unproductice today

Hey long time been busy doing lots of things. Well not much going on today except the band was obnoxious as usual. Band is almost a waste of time i hardly learn anything in it anyway.  I love music but gosh our band is sooooooooooooo immature! Now im not saying theyre all bad, many are good kids, but theres enough bad apples to ruin it all!!!!! Is it wasnt for private lessons, i would've quit band long ago. Sooo... enough ranting but I hope we get a good director who will DISCIPLINE the band!  Hopefully someone will tag my board cause my blog is near death. This is gettting pretty meaningless without any bloggers so please TAGGGG MY BOARD!!!!!  Sorry im ranting againn lol.... Summer is almost here so lets enjoy our final weeks of school eh????

Hey guys if you can come to the First Baptist Easter Program this weekend the orchestra will sound scrumptuous( fancy english!!!!) Drama is good i am odysseus man who kisses many beautiful women and likes to fight trojans! Ahh i saw the guard saturday night good job great improvement! And i went to cumberland county playhouse with the french ppl and drama ppl and had had a good time i got to go to a winery baby! But I did not have special relations with alcohol! I did with ice cream though i bought ice cream there. It was fun i got a picture with the female lead in the play so that was cool. So tonight is my first trombone awards ceremony! Award for freshman of the week goes to Andrew Waggy for his talents. Spirit award goes to Zook for his passion in playing his horn. The dancing award goes to Louis because he possesses great moves. The cool saxophonist award goes to Keith because he is just kool and smart. Two great trombone players

The one on the left is Jim Markey, the associate principal trombone in the New York Philharmonic, became a professional at 22. The one on the right is the legendary principal trombone Joseph Alessi. The guy in the middle is some conductor named David Chamberlain, who I know nothing about but Im sure hes great too. Both trombonists have released cds. This is the kind of player i want to be!
